Feria de Abril Brings Color, Music, and Culture to El Paso — Thousands Attend Spanish Festival!

This past weekend, El Paso lit up with color, rhythm, and cultural pride as the city hosted its annual Feria de Abril 2025, drawing thousands of attendees to celebrate the vibrant traditions of Spanish Andalusian culture. Held at Cohen Stadium Park on April 12th, the event featured a dazzling array of flamenco dancing, traditional Spanish cuisine, live guitar performances, and festive parades that turned the venue into a full-blown cultural carnival. “It feels like Seville came to Texas,” said María Delgado, an event coordinator. “We’re proud to celebrate this beautiful heritage with the El Paso community.” The Feria de Abril, inspired by the famous celebration in Seville, Spain, has become a staple in El Paso’s multicultural event calendar. With brightly colored tents known as casetas, families gathered to eat, dance, and watch performances from both local and international artists. Highlights from the Event Included: Live flamenco shows by dancers from Mexico, Spain, and New Mexico A paella cook-off featuring 12 local chefs Kids’ carnival zone with face painting and miniature donkey rides Art installations showcasing Spanish ceramics and textiles Nighttime lantern parade with over 1,000 handmade lights City officials estimate the event attracted more than 20,000 visitors throughout the weekend, making it one of the most successful cultural festivals of the year. “Events like this bring us together,” said El Paso Mayor Oscar Vega, who attended the opening ceremony. “It’s a reminder that El Paso is a city of deep roots and joyful celebration.” Local vendors and performers praised the turnout, with many reporting record-breaking sales and support. Organizers are already planning to expand the 2026 Feria with additional days and a larger performance stage.
